15th November 1955: Sam leaps into the body of sixteen year old Billie Jean Crockett, just as she goes into labour in a hospital delivery room. Luckily for Sam, he has swapped places with Billie and her baby, and so he manages to pass off events as a false alarm. Returning to his job at ‘Dotty’s’, a beauty salon in Oklahoma, Sam learns from Al that Billie is due to put her baby up for adoption, but will soon come to regret her decision and spend the rest of her life searching in vain for her child. Sam must find a way for Billie to keep her baby and patch up her relationship with her father – but matters are further complicated when Sam’s bond with Billie causes him to experience all the symptoms of her pregnancy…
